Install Step #2:
Under the hood, remove the (4) 10mm bolts securing the grille shell to the truck.
Install Step #3:
To release the lower clips, pull the top of the grille shell out towards you and use a flat-blade screwdriver to release. With two clips released, the rest will unclip with moderate pulling.
Install Step #4:
Place the grille shell on a sturdy workstation to continue.
Install Step #5:
You'll need to remove the Upper Grille Shell Support to install the grille insert.
Install Step #6:
To remove the support, push the large clips from the back forward to release them.
Install Step #7:
The clips will pull out once released.
Install Step #8:
Unbolt the (1) 10mm bolt securing the support and it will slide off the shell easily.
Install Step #9:
With the support removed, you'll need to drill out the clips securing the back of the grille shell to the outer chrome/painted surround with a 1/8" drill bit.
Install Step #10:
Once drilled through, the clips remove completely with a flat-blade screwdriver.
Install Step #11:
Now you can separate the chrome surround from the black backing. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, unclip the shell all the way around and separate the two parts.
Install Step #12:
The grille shell should look like so once the chrome surround is removed.
Install Step #13:
To remove the two "C-Shaped" pieces on the grille, you'll need to cut the clips securing them in place - you will not need these.
Install Step #14:
Once the clips are cut, the pieces will come right off.
Install Step #15:
Next you'll need to remove the inner section of the grille shell by cutting the plastic ribs away from the outer plastic shell.
Install Step #16:
We recommend using a body saw and angle disc grinder for cutting out the grille shell center plastic. These tools can be purchased at www.harborfreight.com.
Install Step #17:
Once cut, the center section should separate - you will not be using the center.
Install Step #18:
