Picture #1:
Here is our project Escalade in need of a new GrillCraft Stainless Steel Woven SW-Series Mesh Grille.

Picture #2:
Remove the plastic clips that secures the under hood panel that sits across the top of the grille.
|

Removing the under hood cover.

Picture #4:
Remove the bolt that secures the grille shell to the hood latch support.
|

Picture #5:
Now the grille shell can be removed from the vehicle.
|

Here is the grille shell removed from the vehicle.

Picture #7:
Now lets tape off the painted section of the grille in order to eliminate scratching the paint finish.
|

Here is the grille shell taped off and ready for the cutting process.

We will be cutting the center section out (NOTE the area on the inside of the chrome edge will be cut do not cut out the chrome edge.

Using a saw cut out the center section of the grille.

(Note) The top section of the grille will need to be notched in another later step.

(Note) The cut edge is on the inside of the chrome edge (do not cut chrome edge)

Removing the center section I find it easier to remove it in sections as shown.

Picture #16:
Now sand the cut edge smooth up to the chrome edge. This will give the install a nice finished look.

Using a sanding block with sandpaper is another way to do it also.

The top section of the grille shell will need to be notched in order to fit the new grille center.

A 1/2 x 1/2 inch notch cut into the chrome section.

Fit the new grille in from the back side make sure corners fit into cut out notches.

Press the grille firmly in place.

Picture #22:
Using 3/16 inch drill bit drill for the mounting screws.

Attach the grille with supplied fastners as shown.

Now lets remove the factory emblem using fishing line works well to loosen the glue contact or applying hot air with a blow dryer works well also.

Removing the plastic prongs on the backside of the emblem (these may be a problem when centering the emblem so i always remove them)

Center the emblem on the new grille.

Picture #30:
The grille kit comes complete with a 5 minute epoxy kit for attaching the grille emblem.

Picture #31:
From the back side apply the 5 minute epoxy and let dry for a few minutes.
|

Picture #32:
Install the supplied grille support (extension bracket) to the factory hood latch support using the original bolt removed from step #4.

Fasten the grille to the extension bracket with the supplied nut and bolt as shown.

Picture #34:
Reinstall the under hood cover over the top of the grille.
|

WOW NOW THATS A STYLING STATEMENT.
