        GMC Sierra 1500 Series '07-'13 Upper Grille (GMC-2023)

Picture #1:
Our project 2008 GMC Sierra in need of a GrillCraft Custom Mesh Sport grille for added styling.

Picture #2:
Start by removing the plastic clips that secure the grille cover as shown.

Picture #3:
Remove the plastic grille cover.

Picture #4:
Remove the bolts along the top of the grille shell.

Picture #5:
Use a set of pliers to unfasten grille shell clips on the back side of the grille shell.

Picture #6:
Squeeze clip while pulling forward on the grille shell.

Before you can remove the grille shell from vehicle you will need to unclip the bumper cover tab by simply pressing down on tab shown here.

The entire grille shell can now be removed.

These grille ribs will need to be cut out.

The top bar can be removed but it is best to cut out after grille insert screws have been drilled.

Insert grille into grille shell and while holding firmly in place mark the mounting tab center hole locations using a sharp scribe.

Drill a 3/16 hole for the mounting screws.

On this project we decided to color match the grille shell to the vehicles color.

Place grille insert into grille shell and place mounting screws into drilled hole do not tighten yet.

OPTIONAL: Using a marker trace the grille insert frame from the back side.

OPTIONAL: We will be painting area behind grille insert with flat black paint.

OPTIONAL: Tape the outlined area as shown.

OPTIONAL: Using a scuffing pad to prep the area to be painted works well.

OPTIONAL: Give the area to be painted a light scuff.

OPTIONAL: Krylon flat black spray paint works well.

Picture #25:
OPTIONAL: Spray the area with a few coats of flat black paint. When dry install grille insert and fasten screws with supplied hardware.
